Functional Optimizations
Optimized the protocol of filaments with AMS.
Added some new features.
1.[AMS] Supports AMS automatic refill.
When a filament runs out, AMS automatically switches to a filament with identical properties, including brand, type, color, and print temperature. If it cannot find a material with the same properties, AMS will indicate that the current filament line is exhausted. To enable this feature, check "AMS Auto-Refill" on the AMS settings page.
Note:
a. Currently, re-reading filament RFID information and editing information for non-Bambu filaments are not supported during printing. Please configure the filament information before printing.
b. This function requires identical filament properties. We recommend using Bambu filaments as replacement materials, and non-Bambu filaments as replacement materials.
2.[AMS] Support AMS addressing ID reset function
Each AMS is assigned an ID after being connected to the printer. The printer displays AMSs in order of ID. The AMS has a roll mapping function, and the ID will not affect printing. If you need to reassign the AMS ID, please click "Reset AMS Information" on the AMS settings page. After clicking, the AMS will go offline. Please disconnect all AMS connections and connect to the AMS in the required order. Please refer to:
3.[AMS]Support AMS remaining filament estimation
AMS now estimates remaining filament length. This feature uses RFID technology for measurement, so when enabled, it only estimates remaining material for official Bambu Lab rolls. To enable this feature, select "Update Remaining Capacity" in the AMS configuration interface. Once enabled, AMS will estimate the remaining filament length after the next RFID read. Additionally, AMS will update the remaining length of the used roll during printing. Unplugging the cable will clear the remaining length information.
Note:
4.[AMS] Support AMS humidity status indication.
AMS now features a built-in hygrometer to help users monitor the desiccant's status. In the lower right corner of the AMS dashboard, an indicator shows the humidity level.
This indicator uses color and a bar to represent the index. A higher number and green color indicate dry air and effective desiccant operation, while a red bar and a lower bar indicate ineffective desiccant operation and damp air. Effective desiccant can maintain the indicator at 4 or 5 bars. Ineffective desiccant can only maintain the indicator at 1 or 2 bars. It is best to store the desiccant pack in a dry box until a new one is installed.
Note:
1.[AMS] Optimize AMS filament tangle monitoring detection.
2.[AMS]Added a tangle detection and recovery feature to the RFID reading process. If the AMS finds a tangeling filament during reading, it will attempt to recover the material line. If the recovery fails, the filament will be returned.
[HUB]Compatible with printer and AMS related functions.
AMS now supports HMS error notifications for common errors. When an AMS exception occurs, users can view the HMS error code to identify the possible cause. AMS filament break detection during printing has also been improved. We have moved the filament exhaustion sensor from the AMS to the tool head. If the filament runs out while the AMS is loading, the old filament will be automatically flushed.
Previously, AMS users needed to unplug the AMS cable before loading the spool holder with filament to print with some filaments not supported by AMS. This was a frustrating issue for users who placed their printer in an inaccessible area behind the machine. Therefore, our new firmware now provides an option to enable or disable AMS when starting a print.
When the "Enable AMS" option is checked, AMS will be used for printing. If unchecked, the printer will pull the loaded filament from the spool holder. Users can now easily switch between AMS and the spool holder without unplugging the cable.
Due to resistance encountered during filament insertion, we have observed that some users experience difficulty when loading filament. In this firmware version, we have introduced the AMS auxiliary feeding function. Users can now select an empty slot on the touchscreen to activate the AMS's motor-assisted filament insertion. Once selected, the slot's motor will rotate at low speed for 10 seconds to facilitate filament loading. Simultaneously, the white LED on the AMS will enter a breathing mode (gradually brightening and dimming), indicating that the feature is enabled and users may proceed with assisted filament insertion.
Note: Filament can still be loaded without motor assistance, as in previous firmware versions.
In this version, the LED indicators on the AMS have been fully redesigned with an updated signaling system:
Solid White: A filament spool is loaded in the slot but is not currently in use. You may unload the filament.
Breathing White: The slot is currently busy. Please do not attempt to unload the filament.
Red Indicators: A red light may appear in different patterns, indicating a potential AMS error.
Please check the error message on the display or contact customer support for assistance.
These options allow you to control when the AMS reads the RFID information of filaments. If you prefer not to update filament information every time a spool is inserted, you may disable the "Update on Insertion" option in the AMS settings. Alternatively, you can enable "Update on Startup" to ensure your material data remains up-to-date, particularly if filaments were replaced while the device was powered off and might otherwise be skipped during identification.
Additionally, the AMS can now recall saved parameters for third-party filaments. When switching to a different spool, please remember to update its information accordingly.
