Functionality: The assist motor, located in the filament hub, is responsible for transporting filament to the toolhead for printing and feeding filament into the buffer during the printing process, ensuring coordinated operation with the printer. This error is triggered when the three-phase resistance values of the assist motor are detected to be beyond the acceptable range, possibly due to the motor’s cable being disconnected.

Detection Principle: During startup, the three-phase resistance values of the assist motor are measured. If all three resistance values exceed the acceptable range, the error is prompted.

Impact: The assist motor fails to operate normally and remains in a free-rotating state. The AMS cannot read RFID tags, feed filament, or assist in printing.

Refer to the AMS 2 Pro disassembly video, open the AMS main frame, and lift it. Recheck the assist motor’s cable for poor contact. Reconnect both ends of the motor FPC cable, then restart the AMS to see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists after reconnecting the cable, it may be due to a damaged cable. Replace the cable connecting the motor and the mainboard.

If the problem remains unresolved after replacing the cable, the motor itself may be faulty, possibly due to damaged coils. Replace the motor.

If the issue continues after replacing the motor, it may be caused by a faulty AMS mainboard, which will need to be replaced.
