¶ Issue Description
During printing with the AMS, the extruder checks the position of the buffer before switching. If the buffer is stuck at the far right, the extruder switching will fail.

When the printer is idle, troubleshoot the issue and click "Retry."

When the printer is in a paused state, troubleshoot the issue and click "Resume Print."
Possible causes of the issue include:
- Filament tangling on the spool.
- Filament jamming in the PTFE tube between the extruder and the corresponding AMS slot.
- Buffer jamming.

¶ Solutions
Users may adjust the order of these solutions as needed.
¶ Step 1. Check for Filament Jamming in the PTFE Tube Between the Extruder and AMS

As shown in the image below, manually pull the filament from the AMS slot indicated in the error message up and down to observe if the buffer moves away from the far-right position.

If the buffer moves away from the far-right position, click "Resume."

If the filament cannot be pulled, follow these steps:

Manually press the cutter on the AMS side corresponding to the extruder to cut the filament.

Disconnect the PTFE tube from the toolhead and pull out the filament inside the toolhead.

Use scissors to cut the filament.

Reconnect the PTFE tube to the toolhead and click "Resume" (the printer will automatically reload the filament to ensure the print completes).
If the buffer still does not return to normal, proceed to Step 2.

¶ Step 2. Check for Buffer Jamming

Disconnect the PTFE tubes on both ends and inspect the buffer for broken filament or other debris. Clean if necessary.

If the jamming is difficult to clear, refer to the Wiki Replace the H2D buffer for instructions on disassembling the buffer for thorough cleaning.

If the printer is in a paused state, click "Resume" after resolving the issue.
If the above solutions do not resolve the issue, submit a ticket and upload the printer’s log files.
