¶ Fault Description
Function: The completion of an AMS filament retraction is marked by the filament retracting back into the PTFE tube between the feeder unit and the internal hub unit. If the retraction time exceeds the maximum limit without success, and the AMS detects no other errors, it will prompt "AMS x slot x filament retraction to AMS timed out".
¶ Troubleshooting
Common causes for this failure include:
- The spool is tilted and not in contact with the active retraction shaft, preventing the spool from rotating correctly to retract the filament.
- The active retraction shaft is not engaged properly, causing it to not rotate and fail to drive the spool to retract the filament.
- The passive retraction shaft is not installed correctly, preventing the spool from rotating properly to retract the filament.

The end of the filament has detached from the spool but has not fully entered the feeder (the Hall effect sensor is still triggered). In this state, although the spool can rotate, it cannot pull and retract the filament.

The length of the filament to be retracted is too long, causing the retraction process to time out.
