There are two RF coils in AMS, and each coil is responsible for reading the filament information of two adjacent slots. When the cable of the RFID coil is disconnected or the coil is damaged, this HMS error will appear. After this error occurs, AMS 2 Pro will not be able to read the filament information of the corresponding slot, nor can it estimate the remaining filaments.
Refer to the AMS 2 Pro disassembly video, loosen the two screws securing the AMS main frame, and lift the main frame of the AMS 2 Pro.
Check whether the connector between the RF coil and the AMS mainboard is loose, and whether the pins of the interface are damaged. If the pins are not bent or damaged, re-tighten the connector and try again;
If the error persists after reconnecting the cable, the RF coil itself may be faulty, requiring the replacement of the AMS main frame (the RF coil is glued to the AMS main frame).
If the issue persists after replacing the AMS main frame, the corresponding interface on the AMS mainboard may be damaged, necessitating the replacement of the AMS mainboard.
If your AMS 2 Pro is still under warranty, please contact our after-sales support team for further assistance after attempting the above troubleshooting steps.
