The extruder servo motor is located at the center of the toolhead and is used to drive the extruder gear. After the printer is powered on, the extruder servo motor performs a self-test. If a motor open circuit is detected, the issue must be resolved before printing can commence.
Possible causes include:
Short circuit in the motor
Abnormal TH board driver
Before disassembling the toolhead, ensure the printer is powered off.
H2.0 Allen key
H1.5 Allen key
Users may adjust the order of these solutions as needed.
1-Extruder switching motor FPC 2-extruder servo motor FPC
Unplug the extruder switching motor FPC.
Unplug the extruder servo motor FPC and reconnect the extruder switching motor FPC.
Power on the printer.
Check if the screen still displays the same error message: "The extruder servo motor has a short-circuit. It may have failed."
If yes, the TH board is faulty. Proceed to Step 3 to replace the TH board.
If the error message is not displayed, power off the printer, reinstall the extruder servo motor FPC, and proceed to Step 4 for testing.
Refer to Steps 1~8 in the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to replace the TH board.
Partially reassemble the toolhead (part cooling fan, duct, and hotend do not need to be installed).
Proceed to Step 4.
Power on the printer and perform a self-test. If no related alerts pop up, the troubleshooting was successful.
If the extruder servo motor short-circuit alert persists, proceed to Step 5 to replace the extruder servo motor.
Refer to Steps 1~10 in the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to replace the extruder servo motor.
Power on the printer again and perform a test. If no alerts are displayed, the troubleshooting is complete.
