¶ Issue Description
The extruder servo motor is located at the center of the toolhead and is used to drive the extruder gear. After the printer is powered on, the extruder servo motor performs a self-test. If a motor open circuit is detected, the issue must be resolved before printing can commence.
Possible causes of this issue include:

Before disassembling the toolhead, ensure the printer is powered off.

Users may adjust the order of these solutions as needed.
¶ Step 1. Disassemble the toolhead to expose the TH connection board and check the connection status of the extruder servo motor FPC to the TH board.

Unplug the extruder switching motor FPC.

Unplug the extruder servo motor FPC and reconnect the extruder switching motor FPC.

If loose, reinstall it to ensure a secure connection, then proceed to Step 4 for reassembly.

If the connection is normal, proceed to Step 2.

¶ Step 2. Check the connection status between the extruder servo motor and its FPC
- Refer to Steps 1–9 in the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to further disassemble the TH connection board, TH board, and cooling fan for hotend, exposing the extruder servo motor.

Open the extruder servo motor back cover and check if the motor cables are loose.

If loose, reinstall to ensure a secure connection, then close the back cover and proceed to Step 4 for reassembly.

If not loose, proceed to Step 3.
¶ Step 3. Replace the extruder servo motor
Unscrew the two screws and replace the extruder servo motor.
¶ Step 4. Partially reassemble the toolhead
Refer to the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to reassemble the toolhead. The cooling fan duct and hotend can be installed after testing.
¶ Step 5. Power-on test
Power on the printer for a self-test. If no relevant alert appears, the issue is resolved, and proceed to Step 7.
If the issue persists after replacing the extruder servo motor, proceed to Step 6.
¶ Step 6. Replace the TH board
Refer to Steps 1 and 8 in the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to replace the TH board.
Power on for testing. If no relevant alert appears, the issue is resolved, and proceed to Step 7.
¶ Step 7. Disassemble the remaining toolhead components
Refer to Steps 35–37 in the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead to reassemble the part cooling fan duct, hotend, etc.
If the above solutions do not resolve the issue, submit a ticket and upload the printer’s log files.
