extrusion force sensors are installed above both the left and right hotends of the toolhead to sense the extrusion force of the hotend. These sensors play a critical role in functions such as homing, leveling, nozzle Z offset calibration, and dynamic flow calibration. When the frequency of the extrusion force signal of the right extruder is too high, the heatbed will descend a short distance, then automatically cancel the print task and display an error message.
Possible causes of the issue include:
The extrusion force sensor is too close to the right hotend heatsink.
The extrusion force sensor is damaged.
Right extrusion force sensor:
Right hoend heatsink:
H2.0 Allen key
H1.5 Allen key
Flat-head tweezers
Silicone
Users may adjust the order of these solutions as needed.
Check and ensure the nozzle is firmly seated against the hotend heater, and the locking clip is securely fastened to prevent the hotend from loosening.
Perform Step 5 for the homing test. If the test fails, proceed to Step 2.
Swap the left and right hotends, then perform the centering test for the right hotend.
If the test is successful, it indicates an issue with the hotend. Replace the hotend. If the test fails, proceed to Step 3.
Remove the right hotend. Use a phone to take a photo of the eddy current coil position of the extrusion force sensor (as shown below). Check if the coil is exposed or damaged. If the coil is damaged, proceed to Step 4 to replace the right extrusion force sensor.
Refer to the Wiki How to Disassemble and Assemble H2D Toolhead Steps 1 to 13 to complete the replacement of the right extrusion force sensor.
Click the screen to re-initiate the homing process. If the HMS does not repeat, the troubleshooting is successful.
If the above solutions do not resolve the issue, submit a ticket and upload the printer’s log files.
