We have categorized the FAQ of X1E into:
- product specifications
- product usage
You can use the menu bar on the left to navigate to the desired module quickly.
¶ Is the heated chamber of the X1E actively heated?
No. The chamber temperature increases based on the temperature set for the heated bed and cannot be precisely controlled.
¶ Is the filament buffer needed for single filament printing? (For X1 or P1 Series)
When printing with a single spool of filament, the buffer is not needed, since the filament spool itself can be considered as a 'buffer'.
¶ What are the differences between X1E and X1C?
Please refer to the official website for X1E product technical specifications. (click here) to learn more about the differences between our products.
¶ Can I upgrade my X1C to X1E? If so, what accessories do I need to purchase?
Unfortunately, the X1C can not be upgraded to X1E using accessories.
The X1 and X1C printers do not support the installation of the chamber heating module and the wired network module.
Additionally, the X1 and X1C printers do not support installing the hotend assembly of the X1E (including the heater, NTC, and thermal grease).
¶ Can I install the chamber heating unit or the wired network module on my P1S (or enclosed P1P)?
No, the P1 series printers do not support installing the chamber heating unit or wired network modules.
Additionally, the P1 series printers do not support installing the hotend assembly of the X1E (including the heater, NTC, and thermal grease).
¶ What are the dimensions and weight of the X1E?
Package dimensions: 480*480*590 mm
Package weight: 26 kgBuild Volume(WxDxH) : 256*256*256 mm
Bare machine dimensions: 389*389*457 mm
Bare machine weight: 16 kg
¶ What are the advantages and disadvantages of the heating module?
X1E offers an additional chamber temperature heating control feature, with a maximum chamber temperature of 60 ℃.
High chamber temperatures can suppress the warping of certain high-temperature filament prints and provide them with higher interlayer strength.
When printing high-temperature filaments such as PC, PA-CF, PAHT-CF, PET-CF, PPA-CF, PPS, and PPS-CF, selecting X1E and enabling a chamber temperature of 60 °C can result in improved dimensional accuracy and visual quality of some prints. Furthermore, when printing the aforementioned high-temperature filaments, selecting X1E and enabling a chamber temperature of 60 ℃ can enhance the strength of some prints.
¶ What is the power rating of the heating module?
The heating module is rated at 380 W.
¶ Does X1E support 5 GHz WiFi?
No, the X1E only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks.
¶ What is the maximum chamber temperature of X1E?
The maximum chamber temperature reached by the X1E is 60℃
¶ What is the internet speed like when X1E is connected via Ethernet?
The Ethernet connection speed is 100Mbps.
¶ What are the advantages of using X1E for educational users?
X1E now supports ethernet cable connection and LAN mode. You can run the printer without connecting directly to the internet.
For extreme security requirements, there is a switch to physically disable the network module or just completely remove the network module. We combined the G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter, and top-of-the-line coconut shell-activated carbon filter for ultimate air filtration. Better filtration eliminates excessive smell when working with smelly materials, and hugely improves the printing experience in a less-ventilated environment.
Accurately controlled chamber temperature (Up to 60℃) improved print quality on sensitive filaments such as ABS and ASA.
¶ What materials can be printed with X1E?
Supported filament types
PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA, BVOH excellent printing (with enclosure open) ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET excellent printing PLA-CF/GF, PETG, PA, PET, PC, ABS, ASA excellent printing PPT-CF/GF, PPS, PPS-CF/GF suitable for printing
¶ What are the product specifications for the Ethernet cable? Is it a universal cable?
It is a universal Ethernet cable that supports 100mbps.
¶ What is the power consumption of X1E in sleep mode and operating mode?
In sleep mode, X1E has a power consumption of approximately 17W*. However, in operating mode, the power consumption of X1E depends on the enabled functions, but it does not exceed 700W* at maximum.
*The above data is measured at room temperature of 25°C.
¶ How should I connect to the internet?
Please refer to the X1E network connection guide. It can be connected via Wi-Fi or the Ethernet cable.
¶ How should I set the chamber temperature for the heating module when slicing?
Please refer to the chamber temperature control guide . It can be configured via Bambu Studio.
¶ How should I control the heating module to avoid excessive chamber temperature that can lead to clogging? In other words, how do I balance the temperature?
In Bambu studio, we have set default chamber temperature parameters for different filament types. It is recommended to avoid modifying these parameters on your own and select the appropriate filament type for printing.
For low-temperature filaments, it is suggested to keep the chamber temperature off.
For high-temperature filaments, it is advised to enable the chamber temperature based on the filament requirements.
For more details, please refer to the chamber temperature control guide (to be published soon).
¶ How can the temperature of the heating module be adjusted?
The temperature of the heating module can be adjusted through the printer's touchscreen, Bambu Studio, and the Bambu Handy.
¶ What languages does X1E support?
The X1E supports Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Swedish, German, Dutch, and Spanish.
¶ Can X1E print without being connected to the internet?
Yes, you can print using a micro SD card.
You can also interact with the printer using a local area network (LAN Only Mode).
¶ Can multiple computers be connected to the same printer simultaneously?
The printer can only be bound to one account at a time. However, the same account can be logged in on different computers or apps to control the printer, and there is no limitation on the number of connections.
Please note that real-time video streaming is limited by network bandwidth, allowing a maximum of 4 client connections.
¶ How accurate is the chamber temperature control during testing?
When the chamber temperature control is working properly under heating conditions (when setting temperature 10°C or more above the ambient temperature), the chamber temperature control accuracy is within ±1°C.
¶ Where is the chamber temperature sensor located in the printer?
The chamber temperature sensor is located inside the structure of the heating module.
¶ How hot does the metal panel get at the highest operating temperature of X1E?
When the chamber temperature is enabled, the outer casing of the printer, the heated bed, the print surface, and the hot end can become quite hot. It is advisable to avoid touching them to prevent burns.
With an ambient temperature of 25°C and a chamber temperature set to 60°C, most of the casing temperature remains within 55°C. However, the metal components connected to the internal framework may reach temperatures up to 58°C.
¶ How long should I wait before removing the model after it has finished printing on the X1E model?
You can remove the model immediately, but please note that the heated bed and print surface may still be hot. It is recommended to allow them to cool down before removing the model, to ensure slow cooldown of the part.
¶ Are the heating module and wired network module pre-installed on the X1E?
Yes, both of these modules are pre-installed so that you can use them right out of the box.
¶ Does a higher chamber temperature result in greater toxicity?
We have enhanced the filtration system, which provides better air filtering during printing.
The printer should still be used in a well-ventilated place.
¶ Does the X1E enhance the performance of the filament drying function?
Yes, please refer to the X1E Material Drying Guide (to be written) for more information.
¶ Is an internet connection required for firmware upgrades?
Yes, an internet connection is required for firmware upgrades.
