The mount calibration is used to measure the position of the tool tip and put the machine into absolute position mode and perform related leveling operations. The machine that has not completed the mounting calibration cannot use the cutting function.
In addition to executors like pens and blade tip that can measure contact, mount calibration also requires simultaneous use of the toolhead camera. When using the toolhead camera, the pen causes structural interference, leading to calibration failure, so the pen can not be used for mount calibration.
The weeding tool can be used to lift or move materials, such as helping to remove waste material after cutting materials such as heat transfer vinyl. However, the use of the weeding tool is not limited to removing waste material, it can also assist in removing the complete vinyl.
The roller can help flatten the material to be cut so that it fits more evenly on the platform.
The scraper can help remove material from the cutting mat.
For a more detailed introduction and use of the weeding tool, roller and scraper, please refer to this document: Cutting Module Assist Tool (weeding tool, scraper and roller) Usage Introduction
The pen height calibrator is not necessary, because as long as the pen is locked, when homing the Z-axis, it is equivalent to setting the height. But we recommend using the pen height calibrator to roughly set the height, and then cooperating with the homing in the firmware to accurately set the height.
The stronggrip cutting mat has stronger viscosity than the lightgrip cutting mat. Most materials are tried with a light cutting mat. Strong grip cutting mat is only used for a few materials that will generate large lateral forces, such as leather, plastic sheets, etc. In addition, the powder dropped by the material will greatly affect the life of the mat, so it is better to stick the back of the leather on the mat except when mixed with laser engraving. In other cases, try to stick the smooth side of the material on the mat.
When using the mat, select the corresponding mat facing up according to the materials you are using and tear off the protective film on it (do not tear off the protective film on the side that fits the heatbed).
Do not discard the torn protective film. When not in use, you can stick the protective film back to the mat to prevent debris from sticking and keep the mat sticky.
It can be replaced. You can buy replacement stronggrip and lightgrip replacement films at the official store. You can also print the built-in film-sticking auxiliary tools in the printer to assist in film sticking. When the stickiness can't stick to the material to be cut, the film needs to be replaced. The service life of the film is related to the type of material and the complexity of the cutting pattern.
For materials that are easy to lose powder, the film replacement cycle will be relatively shorter.
This phenomenon may be caused by the failure to update the platform type.
The platform type will only be refreshed when taking photos and making production. If it is not refreshed, the platform type will always remain in the previous state, and it is possible that the platform type will always be displayed as incorrect.
This problem can be solved by taking photos and refreshing. You can also ignore the error and directly initiate the task. After initiating the task, the machine will check the platform again and refresh the platform type.
Note that you need to install a birdseye camera before you can use the photo refresh.
H2D will add automatic refresh of the platform type when closing the door, so that you only need to close the hatch before initiating production, and the platform type will be automatically refreshed. So it is strongly recommended that you close the door after each placement of materials and platforms.
The visual features required for identification are a combination of the silk screen on the platform and the silk screen on the protection base. Please check whether the platform is in place and whether the silk screen is dirty or blocked.
The main reason is that in the traditional cutting industry, to pursue cutting efficiency for different materials, professional cutting manufacturers need tools with different parameters, but for home users, we believe that one size of the blade is sufficient in most cases.
When the release paper of the vinyl itself can be used directly for heat transfer, all official heat transfer vinyl of Bambu lab support direct heat transfer; if the material you purchased itself needs to be used with a transfer sticker, you can cut the pattern without mirroring.
Although an old-fashioned dry iron can complete all heat transfer tasks, it requires more experience, including the temperature of the movement, how much pressure to use, and how long to press, especially considering that the movement itself is small in area, it may take multiple presses to transfer a larger pattern in place; therefore, it is recommended to purchase a dedicated heat press, at least a handheld square heat press.
When you learn how to use heat transfer on the Internet, you may find that many tutorials recommend putting a layer of release paper between the heat press and the material. The main function of this layer of paper is to protect your heat press. If you set the heat press temperature incorrectly or the heat press time is too long or the material you purchased has quality problems, the melted heat transfer release film will damage your heat press.
Please refer to this wiki: Suggestions for using drawing pens
1. The pattern is too small: When the pattern diameter is less than 1mm, it will be almost impossible to cut due to the limitation of the tool tip size. To achieve a good cutting effect, please try to control the size to more than 5mm.
2. Limitations of the physical world: Larger lateral forces during cutting will inevitably cause machine deformation, and the smaller the size, the more obvious the cutting deformation caused by deformation.
3. Low stickness: Small patterns have a smaller bonding surface on the mat. When the connection with other materials is cut off, the tool tip is more likely to cause the small pattern to move.
The quality of the printed marker directly determines whether the machine can locate the pattern. Please ensure that the pattern printed by your printer is clear and has sharp edges.
When using cutting materials like paper and similar water-absorbing materials, please ensure that the materials are dry. Moist materials can weaken the strength of the material, leading to burrs on the edges during cutting or even tearing, which can damage the work.
