When unloading or changing filament, the toolhead slowly moves towards the cutter plunger, presses the cutting lever, and drives the cutter to cut the filament. After the cutting action is completed, the cutting lever will automatically spring back. There is a magnet inside the cutter lever, and a Hall sensor inside the toolhead. The printer uses the Hall sensor to detect the position of the cutter lever to determine whether the cutting action is completed. If after the toolhead moves a certain distance, the Hall sensor detects that the cutter lever has not moved to the target position, this error message will pop up.
The cutter structure of H2S is shown in the following figures:
This error is usually caused by the following reasons:
Incorrect installation of the magnet or sensor, or poor contact of the sensor connector;
Step loss of the XY motor, resulting in incorrect position of the toolhead.
Check whether the magnet on the cutter is installed correctly.
Refer to the wiki Replacing H2S Extruder Filament Sensor Assembly to remove the extruder filament sensor assembly, check if the Hall cable is loose, and reconnect the cable if it is loose.
After confirming that the cable connection on the extruder filament sensor assembly is normal, refer to the wiki Replacing H2S TH Board to loosen the rear cover of the toolhead, expose the TH board, check if the extruder filament sensor cable on the TH board is loose, and reconnect it if it is loose.
You can turn on the video recording function to check if the toolhead hits any foreign objects during printing and causes step loss: Enable the Video Recording Function and Export Video.
If the printed model does not have misalignment between layers due to step loss, you can restart the printer to trigger the "Resume Printing After Power Off" function and return to the home page to continue printing again.
The following HMS codes all represent the same type of fault.
HMS Code | Fault Description |
---|---|
0700-4500-0002-0002 | The filament cutter's cutting distance is too large. The XY motor may lose steps. |
1800-4500-0002-0002 | The filament cutter's cutting distance is too large. The XY motor may lose steps. |
